How We Protect Your Data

Last updated: [DATE]

Who we are and which sites this covers

This Privacy Policy is issued by Sunderland Valley Enterprises, LLC ("we", "us", or "our"). It applies to all of the following websites and to any page, form, checkout, or portal hosted on them:

We refer to these together as the "Sites." Looks Profitable is a book published by Sunderland Valley Enterprises, LLC, and looksprofitable.com is where the book and related products are sold and delivered.

Information we collect

Information you give us directly

• Purchase information. When you buy a book or a service, we collect your name, email address, phone number, billing address, and, for physical products, your shipping address.

• Payment information. Card details are entered directly into our payment processor's secure checkout. We do not receive or store your full card number. We receive a record of the transaction, the last four digits of the card, and the card type.

• Questionnaire and intake responses. If you purchase a plan or assessment, we collect the answers you provide about your business, which may include revenue figures, cost information, and other financial details. See "Business financial information" below.

• Account information. If you create an account on the reader portal, we collect your name, email address, and login credentials.

• Correspondence. If you email us, book a call, or reply to one of our messages, we keep a record of that correspondence.

• Comments. If you leave a comment on sunderlandvalleyenterprises.com, we collect the data shown in the comments form, plus your IP address and browser user agent string, which help with spam detection.

Information collected automatically

When you visit the Sites we may collect your IP address, browser type, device type, operating system, referring page, the pages you view, and the actions you take on those pages. This is collected through cookies, pixels, and similar technologies. See "Cookies, advertising, and analytics" below.

How we use your information

We use the information we collect to:

• process your order, take payment, and deliver the products or services you bought

• ship physical products to you and handle delivery issues

• prepare and deliver any plan, assessment, or report you purchased

• send you receipts, order updates, and account or portal notifications

• send you emails about our books, resources, offers, and services, where you have subscribed or purchased from us

• respond to your questions and provide customer support

• measure and improve how our advertising, pages, and offers perform

• detect and prevent fraud, abuse, and spam

• meet our legal, tax, and accounting obligations

Business financial information

If you complete a questionnaire, intake form, or assessment as part of a purchased plan or service, you may share information about your business finances. We treat that information as confidential. It is used only to prepare and deliver the work you have purchased and to provide follow-up support. We do not sell it, and we do not share it with advertisers or data brokers. It is accessible only to the people working on your file and to the service providers described below who host or process it on our behalf.

Payments

Payments are processed by third-party payment processors. Your use of checkout is also subject to their terms and privacy policies. We receive from them the information needed to fulfill your order and keep our financial records, including transaction amount, date, status, and partial card details.

Shipping physical products

If you order a paperback, we share your name, shipping address, email address, and order details with our print and fulfillment partner so they can produce and ship your order, and with the carrier who delivers it.

Email and text messages

If you buy from us or opt in to a form on the Sites, we may send you marketing emails in addition to transactional messages such as receipts and shipping updates. You can unsubscribe from marketing emails at any time using the link at the foot of any marketing message, or by contacting us. Transactional messages relating to an order you placed will continue to be sent.

If you provide a phone number and consent to text messages, message and data rates may apply, and you can opt out by replying STOP.

Cookies, advertising, and analytics

We use cookies and similar technologies on the Sites. Some are necessary to make checkout, login, and the shopping cart work. Others help us understand how the Sites are used and how our advertising performs.

We advertise on third-party platforms, including social media platforms. Those platforms may place cookies or tracking pixels on the Sites, and we may send them information about actions you take on the Sites, such as viewing a page or completing a purchase. This is used to measure ad performance and to show relevant ads. Where required, we do this on the basis of the consent you give through our cookie banner.

You can control cookies through your browser settings. You can also manage ad personalization directly with the relevant platform through the ad settings in your account with them. Blocking some cookies may affect how parts of the Sites work.

Comments, media, and account cookies on sunderlandvalleyenterprises.com

The following applies to sunderlandvalleyenterprises.com, which is a WordPress site.

Comments. An anonymized string created from your email address, also called a hash, may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. The Gravatar service privacy policy is available at https://automattic.com/privacy/. After your comment is approved, your profile picture is visible to the public alongside your comment.

Media. If you upload images to the website, avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS) included. Visitors can download and extract location data from images on the website.

Cookies. If you leave a comment you may opt in to saving your name, email address, and website in cookies, so you do not have to enter them again. These cookies last for one year. If you visit our login page we set a temporary cookie to check whether your browser accepts cookies. It contains no personal data and is discarded when you close your browser. When you log in we set cookies to save your login information and screen display choices. Login cookies last for two days and screen option cookies last for a year. If you select "Remember Me", your login persists for two weeks. Logging out removes the login cookies. If you edit or publish an article, an additional cookie is saved in your browser. It contains no personal data and simply records the post ID of the article you edited. It expires after one day.

Embedded content from other websites. Articles on this site may include embedded content such as videos, images, or articles. Embedded content from other websites behaves exactly as if you had visited the other website. Those websites may collect data about you, use cookies, embed additional third-party tracking, and monitor your interaction with that embedded content, including if you have an account and are logged in to that website.

Who we share your data with

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with:

• Service providers who work on our behalf, including our website and funnel hosting providers, customer relationship and email platform, payment processors, print and fulfillment partner, delivery carriers, scheduling and video call tools, and file storage providers. They may use your information only to provide services to us.

• Advertising and analytics platforms, as described above.

• Professional advisers, such as our accountants and lawyers, where reasonably necessary.

• Authorities or other parties where we are required to do so by law, or where it is necessary to protect our rights, safety, or property, or those of others.

• A successor in the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of all or part of our business.

If you request a password reset, your IP address will be included in the reset email.

How long we keep your data

We keep order and transaction records for as long as required for tax and accounting purposes. We keep questionnaire responses and delivered work for as long as needed to support you, and then for a reasonable period afterward. We keep marketing contact records until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete them. If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely so that we can recognize and approve follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue. If you register on the site, we store the information in your user profile, and you can see, edit, or delete it at any time, except that you cannot change your username. Site administrators can also see and edit that information.

Your rights

You can ask us to provide a copy of the personal data we hold about you, correct it, or delete it. You can also ask us to stop sending you marketing messages. To make a request, contact us at [email protected]. We will not discriminate against you for exercising these rights.

Deletion does not include data we are required to keep for administrative, legal, tax, or security reasons.

If you are a California resident, you have the right to know what personal information we collect, use, and disclose, the right to request deletion or correction, and the right to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising. We do not sell personal information for money. Our use of advertising cookies may be treated as "sharing" under California law, and you can opt out through our cookie banner or by contacting us.

If you are in the United Kingdom or the European Economic Area, you also have the right to object to or restrict processing, the right to data portability, and the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

Where your data is sent

We are based in the United States and your data is processed there. If you access the Sites from outside the United States, you understand that your information will be transferred to and processed in the United States. Visitor comments may be checked through an automated spam detection service.

Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Children

The Sites are intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The date at the top shows when it was last revised. Continued use of the Sites after an update means you accept the revised policy.
